Valmiita

I knitted a dishcloth. I hadn't knitted any before this and I wanted to try (and I want to try is knitted dishcloth as functional as others). I used cotton left over 31g. This pattern is for two different colours but I used only one multi-coloured yarn. I noticed that it's difficult to knit in wrong side so this cloth has many mistakes.

Hamsteritöitä ja suunnitelmia
For me "yarn hamster" month is somekind of Beforehand I went through my yarnstash and organized it again. I searched yarns wich I want to get rid of and I don't have any ideas. These yarns are mostly left overs and mohair (my skin doesn't like mohair). I already made one pair of left over socks and get addicted to the idea. Here is next pair (or pairless sock). One sock is finished and there are left overs for another sock. I surprised myself and interested in socks, again, even it's only two months from Christmas and sock exhaustion. Maybe I'll make more of these. My sock yarn box needs emptying.
This morning I looked closely at my "I want to get rif of these" yarn box. I found grey mohair and now I'm knitting a bag of it. I'm going to felt it after knitting. Then I found light grey mohair, but colour wasn't so inspiring.
I remembered candy colours in my closet and I had also vinegar. At the same time I dyed bright pink to not so bright purple. I wanted better multi-colour effect but with mohair it wasn't so easy than with wool. I think I'll knit felted bags of these mohairs. (I'm enthusiastic about felted bags too.)

Jämäsukat

Socks are made of violet and pink left overs. I used two yarns together and many small skeins. With socks there are left overs of this project. Yarn usage was 119g.

Lankahamstereihin valmistautumista
Last days of January I try to finish some of my unfinished objects. February is "Yarn-hamsters" month so I don't buy any yarn and try to decrease my yarnstash knitting my yarns. I finished these socks yesterday. I started knitting in September. Fair isle was slow and difficult because yarns are thin, the pattern was difficult and some of the colours didn't have enough contrast. I tried how black and white multi-coloured yarn suits for fair isle. In my opinion, it's not really nice. Socks are warm and tightly knitted but still quite thin so I can use them with my winter shoes.

Viininpunainen viettelys
I finally finished this lace dream on Tuesday. I was going to write this pattern to Ulla's adult special because I didn't have yarn for my sock idea (maybe I'll knit to socks someday) but I haven't written the pattern yet and deadline was week ago. Let's see if I have time to write the pattern to some other issue (I didn't write down neckline decreases so it might be difficult). This is it then. Man-who-lives-with-me took the pictures and even I say many times that take a picture of the sweater something is missing (like part of the sleeves this time). But you can see the waist and bust decreases and increases. This sweater is just the right size for me. I think it would be better if it was longer but I didn't have more yarn.

Lanka: Rowan Kidsilk Haze ja Vuorelman kampavilla, yhteensä noin 100g

Yarn: Rowan Kidsilk Haze and Vuorelma's wool, together about 100g

This is how it looks at the back. It's different. The bust decreases and increases are only at front.

Yesterday I was shopping and found these fabrics from Eurokangas (they were in discount). The red fabric is wool blend. I'm going to do trousers and/or skirt. Curtains in our bedroom are made of this violet fabric and I bought some more if I want to do some decorating.

Kirjoja
I ordered books from Hobboks last week (there were discounts). Discounts are for me like a red cloth for a bull, if there are yarns, fabrics, books or other handicraft things. These two rose books were on discount. The first book is about embroidering and I had already looked it before but it was too expensive because the handicraft part is quite small. The book was just like I thought it would be, a lot of pictures and stories about roses in the French court and less embroidering models.

Kun kirjoista on puhe, niin oma hengentuotokseni diplomityö on saanut kannet ja se on siis valmis. Valmistuakin minun pitäisi ensi kuun puolella, mutta käsityöaikaa se ei kyllä lisää.
I ordered also one normal priced book, because it seemed interesting. The pictures from the patterns are here for example. I found the pictures after ordering and I thought there would be more beads. At the first sight the book had some nice patterns and ideas but not exactly any "had to do" patterns. I gave minus to this book, because all the lace patterns don't have charts, only some of them have. I think I like more books about techniques and then doing my own modifications and patterns.
Talking about books I have to say my own "book" the final thesis is now covered and done. I'm going to graduate in February but I don't think I have more time for handicrafts.
